Opening Day Marathon - April 7, 2012

"90% of the Course is Flat; the Other Half is Hilly."
"When You Come to a Fork in the Road, Don't Take It."
"The Other Teams Could Make Trouble for You if They Win."
"Run Whenever You Like; We're Giving You the Red Light."
"A Marathon is Pretty Far, but It Doesn't Seem Like it."
"Nobody Runs Here Anymore; It's Too Crowded."
"We Better Make the Marathon 7 Laps; 10 Might Be Too Far."

6 Spots Remain (RD doesn't count toward the 8)

*It's not the first day of the season, but it's the first weekend of the season. I'm not calling it the
Opening Weekend Marathon (sounds like we're going to see a movie).

Registration is now open for BMS Members. Registration will open to the public on March 1, 2012.

Registration is limited to 8 Runners for this Event. Boone Marathon Series at gmail dot com.

The race will be at the same place it usually is, and you'll be able to choose your start time (if you start after your team has started playing, you won't be eligible for prize money).

How it Works
When you register, you'll pick a team that you think will win that day. Once you've registered that team, there's no changing it. It doesn't matter if you email me 3 seconds after you send your registration, you're stuck with your first choice.

If your team wins, you'll get a check in the mail (or credit toward any race with a race fee) for the dollar amount of how ever many hits your team had. Your team must win though. If they get 50 hits and lose the game, you don't get anything.

The amount of prize money you get is also determined by the number of miles you run. We'll divide the number of miles you completed by 26.2 to determine the percentage of prize money you get. You can only get up to 100% though - ultras won't earn you bonus money.

You must send me a registration email to participate (it can be informal: "SGT Jay, I'm running Opening Day, put me down for the Giants"). You won't be able to just show up on race day and get an official finish.

Registered Runners

(1) Race Director, Boston Red Sox (Opponent: Tigers)
I Might as well PBR/Guinness this thing as a tribute to the Sox. Or I could do the Bench Press option to be ironic.

(2) Walter Ogelsby, Miami Marlins (Opponent: Reds)

(3) Daniel Lieb, New York Yankees (Opponent: Rays)
